HOPA stands for "Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure". These games are basically puzzle games revolving around a story. I recently voiced the game Dangerous Games: Illusionist Collector's Edition, available through Big Fish Games. "The first annual Championship of Illusionists ended in tragedy. Twenty years later, the event is back, and you've been asked to write a story about it. It promises to be entertaining news... but things go straight to the front page when a mysterious red-masked man appears out of thin air to abduct the first contestant! Stranger still, the hotel owner claims the man died during the previous competition! Who is the mysterious Red Mask, and what does he want? You'll have to unravel a series of strange and mysterious illusions to find out. Just be careful – nothing is as it seems in this exciting Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game!" This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won't find in the standard version. As a bonus, Collector's Edition purchases count toward three stamps on your Monthly Game Club Punch Card! The Collector's Edition includes: Sunday, May 10 2015
I recently had the pleasure of voicing the third installment of the popular "Incredible Adventures of the Van Helsing" series of video games. Here is an excerpt from the press release... NeocoreGames is putting a bloody stake in 2015 with the announcement that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is officially coming to Steam this May. The gothic-noir steampunk action-RPG influenced by Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a dynamic title packed with six brand new character classes, the third and final story chapter to the trilogy, and dozens of new scientifically altered characters to confront and destroy. The first official gameplay video showcases two of the six new classes, the weapon-heavy Phlogistoneer and the spell-casting Umbralist, each using their own unique styles to fight a barrage of enemies.

John Oliver took on the push for standardized testing citing Seattle's Nathan Hale High School . Oliver pointed out the fact that every junior at the school refused to take Smarter Balanced tests last month stating "The only other thing that an entire class of juniors has managed to agree on, is that The Scarlet Letter could be told much simpler with emojis." Oliver said students throw up during tests so often that administrators actually have instructions for what to do when a child pukes on a test booklet. Friday, May 01 2015
R&B and soul singer Ben E King, best known for the classic song Stand By Me, has died at the age of 76.
King started his career in the late 1950s as the lead singer for The Drifters.
After going solo, he had a top 5 hit with Stand By Me in 1961.
The song returned to the charts in the 1980s.
King's other hits included Spanish Harlem, Amor, Don't Play That Song (You Lied) and Supernatural Thing - Part I.
Fellow singer Gary U.S. Bonds paid tribute to the singer on Facebook early Friday morning.
“With an extremely heavy heart, I must say goodbye to one of the sweetest, gentlest and gifted souls that I have had the privilege of knowing and calling my friend for more than 50 years — Mr. Ben E. King,” he wrote. “Thank you Ben E. for your friendship and the wonderful legacy you leave behind.”

Taking a big step forward to help keep concert goers and sports fans from getting ripped off by "ticket brokers" (a fancy word for scalpers) Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s proposal to ban “ticket bot” software has unanimously passed the state Senate, 49 to 0. The bill will soon head to Governor Jay Inslee for his signature.
Ticket bots — short for robots — are computer programs used by scalpers to buy large quantities of tickets online to popular concerts and sporting events. Bots often target the most desirable seats.

March 31, 1949 - RCA Victor Records released the first commercially available 45 RPM record.. The first single was "Tekarkana Baby" by Eddy Arnold. RCA developed the new format in response to Columbia Records introducing the 33 1/3 RPM long playing LP the previous year. Pressed on vinyl rather than the fragile shellac discs that 78's were manufactured from, the 7" discs eventually overtook the 78 in sales by the mid 1950's becoming the dominant physical single format until the end of the 1980's. I swear I'm not making this up. I recently auditioned for a local market commercial that will air on the east coast for the role of "Traffic Reporter". As an example of what they wanted the character to sound like, the client added a link to the audition notice of me doing traffic reports on King5 News a few years ago. That's right, they were looking for a "John Nelson" type! You'd think I'd be a shoe in for the job, right?
