Once a year I get to sing with some of the best rock musicians in Seattle as part of Rich Evans annual birthday jam. This year the event is also a benefit for our friend Lori who suffers from Guillain Barre Syndrome. 3 great bands including the triumphant return of "Mr Creosote And The Wafer Thin Mints" . Lets see how many people we can cram into Bogart's Saturday night. See you there!

When I was in Las Vegas recently I told a woman Washington state was about to allow liquor to be sold in grocery stores. She looked at me as if I told her my grandpappy had to shut down his still because we just repealed prohibition. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2018331473_liquor02.html "Supermarkets, drugstores and mass merchants began selling liquor in Washington under a dramatically different system approved by voters last fall." . My dad took this picture of actor Richard Boone (of Have Gun Will Travel fame) at his home as part of a high school photography class project in 1958. Family legend has it this was supposed to appear in Life magazine as part of a "young photographers take pictures of celebrities" feature but never made it to print. This is hanging in our living room. Cool pic with a great story. Thursday, May 03 2012

In the blockbuster film The Hunger Games young people are forced to fight to the death on live television. If your among the millions of "Game" fans you might want to check out the following movies: Series 7:The Contenders (2001) - I love this movie, it speaks to my total hatred of reality television. Six people are chosen at random at forced to hunt and kill each other on a top rated TV show. Sound familiar? Click here to see the trailer
Death Race 2000 (1975) - My favorite Roger Corman production. Starring Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine. Costumed characters take part in a cross country road race in which points are scored by running down innocent pedestrians.
Rollerball (1975) - Another classic from the 1970's. James Caan kicks ass in a society where a brutal game called Rollerball is the national pastime.

Nice to see the owners of The Space Needle would never stoop to any crass commercialization of an iconic landmark to sell a product, like say.. strapping a giant "Angry Bird " to the needle to promote a new video game.

Just thought I'd share a great article that's been making its way around the web and social media from blogger JJ Duling.
jjduling.blogspot.com/2011_10_23_archive.html Duling lays out 5 steps to dealing with joining the ranks of the recently unemployed. Take some time to clear your head , network, stay motivated, keep busy, and of course update that resume. Right now I've got most of those things covered, however I do need to work on my "Package". A public service announcement of serious importance courtesy of The Daily Meal:
Cooking naked could be said to be a freeing act: one where you let go of your inhibitions to connect with your body and the food you eat. You become enraptured in the art of cooking and begin to appreciate your food with a new profound sense of self-awareness ? smells, sounds, and tastes are more pronounced. Or, it could be a masochistic, silly experiment where you only inflict pain on yourself. In case some of you soul-searchers, freethinkers, or adventurous eaters are looking to try this out, we drew up a quick list of foods that you should definitely not make when cooking naked.
