Here's a long lost recording of when David Bowie came to visit us at Seattle radio station KMTT "103.7 The MountainSeptember 8th 1997

I remember extra security was hired to keep the fans away. Bowie's road manager showed up early to announce that there would be NO PICTURE TAKING OR AUTOGRAPHS ALLOWED (much to the disappointment of the room full of radio station employees standing with our stacks of CDs and cameras)

When Bowie showed up he was upbeat and friendly and high fived everyone in the room. Bowie chain smoked though the entier interview, laughing and joking about everything from getting tattooed in Japan to Jimmy Page guitar riffs ( nobody had the guts to tell a rock legend that smoking wasn't allowed in the building)

He played acoustic versions of Dead Man Walking, Always Crashing In the Same Car and Scary Monsters.

Bowie was interviewed by veteran Seattle DJ John Fisher

Had a great time at the One Night With Elvi show (That's not a Typo "Elvi" is plural for Elvis). The show was hosted by King 5's Jim Dever and featured back up band Kentucky Rain and several Elvis impersonators. The show was a benefit for The Everett Gospel Mission.

Here's my interpretation of the Elvis classic Little Sister.

This week is my 10 year anniversary of getting over a pretty major health issue. July 29 2005 I passed out in my apartment. My girlfriend called an ambulance and I was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
At first we thought I was suffering from heat stroke, I was actually bleeding internally from scare tissue in my esophagus. While I was being tended to I inhaled vomit into my lungs. I was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, given less than 50 percent chance of survival, my parents called in a priest to perform last rites. Doctors removed a section of my esophagus and I ended up in a drug induced coma for 7 weeks.
That was followed by a month in a nursing home to get my muscles moving again and get me weaned off a myriad of medications (which included morphine and methadone)
Needless to say the summer of 2005 really sucked.
I'm forever grateful to my family and friends for helping me get though that difficult time. Thanks to Deanna Joy Lyons who literally saved my life..

Which means that Van Helsing will do what he does best: gathers his weapons, prepares his deadly tricks, and hunts down the most dangerous monster who has ever lived… and this time it’s personal. He’s prepared to do anything to achieve his goal, even to face the darkest secret about the birth of the modern Borgovia.

Thirty-five years ago today, Mount St. Helens erupted, killing 57 people, blasting more than 1,300 feet off the top and raining volcanic ash for miles. Today, the volcano has become a world-class outdoor laboratory for the study of volcanoes, ecosystems and forestry, as well as a major recreational and tourist destination.

Within minutes of a 5.1 earthquake on May 18, 1980, the volcano's north flank collapsed, triggering the largest landslide in recorded history. That set off powerful explosions that sent ash, steam, rocks and volcanic gas upward. The lateral blast scorched and flattened about 230 square miles of dense forest.

Soon after, a plume of volcanic ash rose over 80,000 feet and rained down as far as 250 miles away in Spokane. Pushed by winds over the next few days, the ash cloud traveled east across the U.S. circling the earth in 15 days.

The eruption blew about 1,314 feet off the volcano and created a horseshoe-shaped crater in the mountain, which now stands at 8,363 feet.
