Budapest, Hungary – May 22, 2015 – Independent publisher and developer NeocoreGames announced today that the last episode in the Van Helsing trilogy The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is available now on Steam for $14.99 including a 10% launch week discount and a 20% loyalty discount for owners of at least one of the first two Van Helsing games. The third game in the gothic-noir steampunk action-RPG influenced by Bram Stoker’s Dracula comes on the same launch day as the previous two games, making May 22 a very special day for fans of the trilogy. The launch trailer displays the game’s beautiful, hand-crafted art, engaging storyline, and exciting new classes throughout the game.

“The thrilling part of launching the third game in the series will be seeing how players engage in the six new classes - which characters they will choose to finally face their nemesis,” said Zoltán Pozsonyi, Producer, NeocoreGames. “And we also definitely believe that players of all three games will enjoy the final story reveal on the snarky Lady Katarina.”

In The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III , the civil war is over in Borgovia, but the future looks grim. The city of weird science is in ruins, squabbling factions and criminals fight for power and a strange cult prophesizes the coming of “The End Times.” And they might be just right: a wave of uncanny events shakes the land, and it’s all connected to a mysterious creature, a former ally turned into a fearful arch-villain. Which means that Van Helsing will do what he does best: gathers his weapons, prepares his deadly tricks, and hunts down the most dangerous monster who has ever lived… and this time it’s personal. He’s prepared to do anything to achieve his goal, even to face the darkest secret about the birth of the modern Borgovia.

Thirty-five years ago today, Mount St. Helens erupted, killing 57 people, blasting more than 1,300 feet off the top and raining volcanic ash for miles. Today, the volcano has become a world-class outdoor laboratory for the study of volcanoes, ecosystems and forestry, as well as a major recreational and tourist destination.

Within minutes of a 5.1 earthquake on May 18, 1980, the volcano's north flank collapsed, triggering the largest landslide in recorded history. That set off powerful explosions that sent ash, steam, rocks and volcanic gas upward. The lateral blast scorched and flattened about 230 square miles of dense forest.

Soon after, a plume of volcanic ash rose over 80,000 feet and rained down as far as 250 miles away in Spokane. Pushed by winds over the next few days, the ash cloud traveled east across the U.S. circling the earth in 15 days.

The eruption blew about 1,314 feet off the volcano and created a horseshoe-shaped crater in the mountain, which now stands at 8,363 feet.

I recently had the pleasure of voicing the third installment of the popular "Incredible Adventures of the Van Helsing" series of video games. Here is an excerpt from the press release...

NeocoreGames is putting a bloody stake in 2015 with the announcement that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is officially coming to Steam this May. The gothic-noir steampunk action-RPG influenced by Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a dynamic title packed with six brand new character classes, the third and final story chapter to the trilogy, and dozens of new scientifically altered characters to confront and destroy. The first official gameplay video showcases two of the six new classes, the weapon-heavy Phlogistoneer and the spell-casting Umbralist, each using their own unique styles to fight a barrage of enemies.

In Van Helsing III, the civil war is over in Borgovia, but the future looks grim. The city of weird science is in ruins, squabbling factions and criminals fight for power and a strange cult prophesizes the coming of “The end of times.” And they might be just right: A wave of uncanny events shakes the land, and it’s all connected to a mysterious creature, a former ally turned into a fearful arch-villain. Which means that Van Helsing will do what he does best: He wields weapons, prepares his deadly tricks, and hunts down the most dangerous monster who has ever lived… and this time it's personal. He's prepared to do anything to achieve his goal, even to face the darkest secret about the birth of the modern Borgovia.

John Oliver took on the push for standardized testing citing Seattle's Nathan Hale High School .

Oliver pointed out the fact that every junior at the school refused to take Smarter Balanced tests last month stating "The only other thing that an entire class of juniors has managed to agree on, is that The Scarlet Letter could be told much simpler with emojis."

Oliver said students throw up during tests so often that administrators actually have instructions for what to do when a child pukes on a test booklet.

R&B and soul singer Ben E King, best known for the classic song Stand By Me, has died at the age of 76.
King started his career in the late 1950s as the lead singer for The Drifters.
After going solo, he had a top 5 hit with Stand By Me in 1961.
The song returned to the charts in the 1980s.

King's other hits included Spanish Harlem, Amor, Don't Play That Song (You Lied) and Supernatural Thing - Part I.

Fellow singer Gary U.S. Bonds paid tribute to the singer on Facebook early Friday morning.

“With an extremely heavy heart, I must say goodbye to one of the sweetest, gentlest and gifted souls that I have had the privilege of knowing and calling my friend for more than 50 years — Mr. Ben E. King,” he wrote. “Thank you Ben E. for your friendship and the wonderful legacy you leave behind.”
